It is what they say it is and if it would work for me or my girlfriend, I'd love it. I have two Shoei helmets, one on-road and one off-road. Both have a plastic clip at the end of the strap to keep it from flapping around a speeds and whipping you, many helmets have something like this. Problem is the Shoei strap will not fit through the "arrow" part of the buckle. So, I tried it on my girlfriends helmet and it fits the helmet, but since she is so small it adds to much length to the strap and it won't tighten enough to fit her. I would guess that it is probably stronger than the strap itself. You can work it with gloves on, so it saves you a lot of nuisance time.
